Designspiration: The Daily Life Of Darth Vader

I recently came across an interesting photo on pinterest of Darth Vader in a house coat. The photo immediately caught my interest, not only because of it’s humour but because the photo was beautiful as well. I pinned it, as you do, and clicked it to follow the link.

What I discovered was even better. Pauel Kodysz, a Polish designer, is the mastermind behind this quirky project entitled: The Daily Life of Darth Vader. This humorous photography series is an ongoing 365 day project challenging the photographer to take a new photo daily as part of the same series. This series came immediately after this talented designer finished his last 365 day photo challenge.

Every day Kodysz posts a new photo of the Sith Lord in different scenarios portraying him as a regular, average guy. The photos are actually taken of himself, hidden under Darth Vader’s mask. Pauel says he is not a professional photographer, just an amateur with the will to learn. All photos are taken usingĀ a mirrorless Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark with a few M.Zuiko lenses and a cheap, amateur strobe.

You can see more of his photos here.

Designspiration: The Daily Life Of Darth Vader

Free Font Friday!

Friday is already a great day, but why not make it even better with some great free fonts! For designers a great font can make a huge difference in a design, a font can make or break your design. There are tons of free fonts all over the internet, but truthfully a lot of them aren’t great and probably not worth the download. Many of us spend hours searching the web for the perfect font. I thought I would save you some time and share some great free fonts that I’ve found myself.

Behance is a great place to find unique and beautifully designed free fonts, and that’s exactly where I found these 8 typefaces. You’ve got to admire these designers for their hard work and dedication to create an entire typeface. It can be difficult enough to find a typeface you’d like to use, but I can’t even imagine where I would begin to design my own. I must note that all of these typefaces are free to download for personal use, otherwise the full versions are available to download for commercial use at a fair price.
