Visions of the Future: A New Design Series from NASA

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Labratory, a research and development centre and NASA field center, recently released these retro-style travel posters free to download! The posters promoting space travel have been unveiled, not so coincidentally, after thousands of people applied to be part of the first settlement on Mars.

This isn’t the first time NASA has unveiled a series like this, early last year they presented similar vintage style travel posters promoting newly discovered planets as holiday destinations. This year the posters were designed by a design team called The Studio, that work with scientists at NASA to create visuals for complex topics relating to space. They were joined by Invisible Creature graphic design studio who were commissioned for some of the posters.

The beautiful designs advertise the solar system’s planets and moons in a series of illustrated travel destination posters. Each poster highlights a different planet and a few special features of each, like the “Cloud 9 Observatory” on Venus.

I’m in love with some of these designs, and have already taken advantage of this awesome promotional platform by downloading the entire series myself! These designs are definitely worth checking out, and beautiful enough to hang as art in your own home.

All 14 posters are available for the public to download for free here!
